GATE 2017 PAPER 2 AFTERNOON SESSION
In this post detailed analysis of gate 2017 ( electronics and engineering branch) question paper , has been done. Each subject is analysed with total number of questions asked along with total marks that subject contributes to the paper. One question from basics of networks analysis,
one question from sinusoidal steady state analysis,one question from network theorems,one question from transient analysis,no questions from two port networks,no question from graph theory since 2008. no question on network functions since 2013.
2. Electromagnetics : total Six questions of 10 marks.
three questions from basics of Electromagnetics,
no question from uniform plane waves, one question from transmission lines,two question from wave guide,no question from antennae.
3. Control systems : total six questions 09 marks.
one question from basics of control systems,
no question from signal flow graph , one question from compensators and controllers, no question from time response analysis ,one question from stability analysis ,no question from root locus.one questions from frequency response analysis. two question from state space analysis.
4. Electronics Devices and circuits : total seven questions of 12 marks.
No question from basic semiconductor physics, two question from junction diodes ,five question from BJT And FETs basics.
5. Analog Circuits : total six questions of 08 marks.
one question from op amps , two question from diode applications , two question from BJT analysis , one question from FET and MOSFET analysis,no question from frequency response of amplifier,no question from feedback amplifiers, no question from oscillator circuits ,no question from Multivibrators and 555 timers.
6. Digital Circuits : Total six questions of 09 marks.
no question from Boolean algebra , no questions from logic gates , three question from combinational circuits, one question from sequential circuits,one question from logic families, one questions from memories,no question from ADC and DAC .
7. Microprocessors : Total zero questions of 00 marks.
8.Signals and Systems : total Six questions of 10 marks.
one questions from basics signal and systems , one question from time domain analysis, no questions from Fourier series , one question from Fourier transform, one question from Laplace transform, no questions from z transform, one question from DTFT , one question from sampling.
9. Communication Systems : Total seven questions of 11 marks.
two question from analog communications, two question from random signals and noise,one questions from digital communication, one question from information theory.
10. engineering mathematics : total nine questions of 14 marks.
one question from linear algebra, three questions from calculus , one question from differential equations, two questions from complex variables,no question from probability and statistics.no question from numerical methods.
11. General ability : total 10 questions of 15 marks.
seven questions from numerical ability , three questions from verbal ability.
